Maltofer Fol consists of Folic Acid, Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose).
Folic Acid - A member of the vitamin B family that stimulates the hematopoietic system. It is present in the liver and kidney and is found in mushrooms, spinach, yeast, green leaves, and grasses (poaceae). Maltofer Fol (Folic Acid) is used in the treatment and prevention of folate deficiencies and megaloblastic anemia.
Indication: For treatment of Maltofer Fol (Folic Acid) deficiency, megaloblastic anemia and in anemias of nutritional supplements, pregnancy, infancy, or childhood.
Maltofer Fol (Folic Acid), a water-soluble B-complex vitamin, is found in foods such as liver, kidneys, yeast, and leafy, green vegetables. Maltofer Fol (Folic Acid) is used to diagnose folate deficiency and to treat topical sprue and megaloblastic and macrocytic anemias, hematologic complications resulting from a deficiency in folic acid.
Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose) - A metallic element found in certain minerals, in nearly all soils, and in mineral waters. It is an essential constituent of hemoglobin, cytochrome, and other components of respiratory enzyme systems. Its chief functions are in the transport of oxygen to tissue (hemoglobin) and in cellular oxidation mechanisms. Depletion of Maltofer Fol (Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose)) stores may result in iron-deficiency anemia. Maltofer Fol (Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose)) is used to build up the blood in anemia.
Indication: Used in preventing and treating iron-deficiency anemia.
The major activity of supplemental Maltofer Fol (Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose)) is in the prevention and treatment of Maltofer Fol (Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose)) deficiency anemia. Maltofer Fol (Iron (Ferrous Polymaltose)) has putative immune-enhancing, anticarcinogenic and cognition-enhancing activities.
