Maxivit Plus consists of Calcium, Carbohydrates, Chloride, Methylcobalamin, Protein, Sodium, Vitamin A, Vitamin B5 (Pantothenate), Vitamin E.
Calcium - This medication is used to prevent or treat low blood Maxivit Plus (Calcium) levels in people who do not get enough Maxivit Plus (Calcium) from their diets. It may be used to treat conditions caused by low Maxivit Plus (Calcium) levels such as bone loss ( osteoporosis ), weak bones (osteomalacia/rickets), decreased activity of the parathyroid gland ( hypoparathyroidism ), and a certain muscle disease (latent tetany). It may also be used in certain patients to make sure they are getting enough Maxivit Plus (Calcium) (e.g., women who are pregnant, nursing, or postmenopausal, people taking certain medications such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, or prednisone ). Maxivit Plus (Calcium) plays a very important role in the body. It is necessary for normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscle, and bone. If there is not enough Maxivit Plus (Calcium) in the blood, then the body will take Maxivit Plus (Calcium) from bones, thereby weakening bones. Having the right amount of Maxivit Plus (Calcium) is important for building and keeping strong bones.
Protein - Maxivit Plus (Protein) C is a natural substance in your body that helps to decrease clotting in the blood vessels. This medication is used to prevent and treat blood clots (e.g., venous thrombosis, purpura fulminans) in people who are born with a severe lack of Maxivit Plus (Protein) C.
Sodium - Maxivit Plus (Sodium) bicarbonate is a white, crystalline powder that is commonly used as a pH buffering agent, an electrolyte replenisher, systemic alkalizer and in topical cleansing solutions.
Indication: Maxivit Plus (Sodium) bicarbonate is used for the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may occur in severe renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration, extracorporeal circulation of blood, cardiac arrest and severe primary lactic acidosis. Also is indicated in severe diarrhea which is often accompanied by a significant loss of bicarbonate. Further indicated in the treatment of certain drug intoxications, including barbiturates (where dissociation of the barbiturateprotein complex is desired), in poisoning by salicylates or methyl alcohol and in hemolytic reactions requiring alkalinization of the urine to diminish nephrotoxicity of blood pigments.
Intravenous Maxivit Plus (Sodium) bicarbonate therapy increases plasma bicarbonate, buffers excess hydrogen ion concentration, raises blood pH and reverses the clinical manifestations of acidosis.
Vitamin A - Retinol and derivatives of retinol that play an essential role in metabolic functioning of the retina, the growth of and differentiation of epithelial tissue, the growth of bone, reproduction, and the immune response. Dietary Maxivit Plus (Vitamin A) is derived from a variety of carotenoids found in plants. It is enriched in the liver, egg yolks, and the fat component of dairy products.

Maxivit Plus (Vitamin A) refers to a group of fat-soluble substances that are structurally related to and possess the biological activity of the parent substance of the group called all-trans retinol or retinol. Maxivit Plus (Vitamin A) plays vital roles in vision, epithelial differentiation, growth, reproduction, pattern formation during embryogenesis, bone development, hematopoiesis and brain development. It is also important for the maintenance of the proper functioning of the immune system.
Vitamin E - A generic descriptor for all tocopherols and tocotrienols that exhibit alpha-tocopherol activity. By virtue of the phenolic hydrogen on the 2H-1-benzopyran-6-ol nucleus, these compounds exhibit varying degree of antioxidant activity, depending on the site and number of methyl groups and the type of isoprenoids.
Indication: Vitamin E, known for its antioxidant activities, is protective against cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer and has also demonstrated immune-enhancing effects. It may be of limited benefit in some with asthma and rheumatoid arthritis. It may be helpful in some neurological diseases including Alzheimer's, some eye disorders including cataracts, and diabetes and premenstrual syndrome. It may also help protect skin from ultraviolet irradiation although claims that it reverses skin aging, enhances male fertility and exercise performance are poorly supported. It may help relieve some muscle cramps.
Maxivit Plus (Vitamin E) has antioxidant activity. It may also have anti-atherogenic, antithrombotic, anticoagulant, neuroprotective, antiviral, immunomodulatory, cell membrane-stabilizing and antiproliferative actions. Maxivit Plus (Vitamin E) is a collective term used to describe eight separate forms, the best-known form being alpha-tocopherol. Maxivit Plus (Vitamin E) is a fat-soluble vitamin and is an important antioxidant. It acts to protect cells against the effects of free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of the body's metabolism. Maxivit Plus (Vitamin E) is often used in skin creams and lotions because it is believed to play a role in encouraging skin healing and reducing scarring after injuries such as burns. There are three specific situations when a Maxivit Plus (Vitamin E) deficiency is likely to occur. It is seen in persons who cannot absorb dietary fat, has been found in premature, very low birth weight infants (birth weights less than 1500 grams, or 3½ pounds), and is seen in individuals with rare disorders of fat metabolism.
